Description:This presentation will discuss assessment for alternative and augmentative communication
supports. Assessment tools will be discussed and considerations for AAC supports will be outlined. Variables to consider in assessment, such as feature matching, access to AAC and accessibility options will be discussed.

Learning Outcomes
Participants will:
- State 2 reasons why to assess for AAC
- Identify three assessment tools that can be used when evaluating
- Identify 2 components of feature matching.
Time Ordered Agenda:
0-5 minutes: Introduction to AAC assessment, why and when to assess
5-20 minutes: Components of an AAC evaluation
20-30 minutes: Assessments and Resources
30-50 minutes: Feature Matching, Access and Accessibility
50-60 minutes: Summary
