Title: Lead, Follow, AND Get Out of the Way – Navigating the How To’s of Mentorship
Description: After a few years “on the job” SLPs and BCBAs may be asked to mentor or supervise graduate students, Clinical Fellows, or those pursuing the BCBA credential. Unfortunately, learning how to be a useful and effective mentor was not part of the mentor’s graduate school experience and learning important skills are left to be gained through professional development courses or trial and error.

Learning Outcomes:
● Participate in self-assessment activities to gauge their skills, knowledge,
and areas for growth.
● Discuss how mentoring changes by generational description.
● Identify at least 5 necessary behaviors to successful mentoring.
Time Ordered Agenda:
0- 10 minutes: Introduction
10-20 minutes: Self Assessment and Know Thyself
20-45 minutes: The Generational Divide – Who am I and Who are They?
45-55 minutes: What behaviors make a successful mentor?
55-60 minutes: Review and Questions
To complete the course, attend the webinar live, take the survey (link provided when you purchase this product and included in a follow-up email). When you fill out the survey a certificate will be sent to your email. If noted your participation will be reported to ASHA 60-90 days after this training. The CEU form must be completed by December 17th, 2024.
