In this course participants will learn how to help autistic toddlers and preschool-aged students start communicating. The topics of assessment, goal development, parent training and data collection will be addressed. A majority of the course is dedicated to early learner foundational skills and how to address these skills in therapy. Joint attention, among other skills are discussed at length.

Participants will be able to list 3 modified leisure activities that can be used during a group lesson

Participants will be able to define behavioral skills training

Participants will be able to discuss how to use behavioral skills training for parent and team training
