Adding ABA to an SLP Practice: Clinical, Compliance, and Business Considerations

This course is for speech-language pathologists who want to expand their practice to include Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) services. Taught by a dually certified SLP/BCBA who built and scaled a multidisciplinary practice, it covers how to assess readiness, navigate licensing and insurance requirements, and structure service delivery when clients receive both speech and ABA. Participants will also learn practical strategies for documentation, staffing, supervision, and integrating ABA into existing speech therapy workflows.

Carrie is a speech-language pathologist, board-certified behavior analyst, certified autism specialist, and Executive Director of Carolina Therapeutics, PLLC, a multidisciplinary practice serving North and South Carolina through clinic-based, in-home, and early intervention service models. She founded Carolina Therapeutics to close gaps in care for autistic and medically complex learners and has grown the organization to include speech-language pathology, occupational therapy, physical therapy, ABA, feeding therapy, and specialized programming through Carolina Therapeutic Ranch and Carolina Therapeutics Academy. As a dually certified SLP/BCBA, Mrs. Hinnant frequently consults with SLPs and private practice owners on how to add ABA service lines, navigate licensing and payer requirements, integrate ABA-informed data collection into existing EMR systems, and build collaborative models when a child receives both speech and ABA. She presents regularly at state conventions and university programs on service delivery, IDEA considerations, and interprofessional practice.
